A Sweet Idea
Making good food has been a passion of mine since I was young. A passion that led me to attend The International Culinary Schools at the Art Institute and graduate with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts in 2010. I interned at high end kitchens to learn the restaurant trade and then worked in three different bakery departments over 7 years, making from-scratch artisan bread and hand-made pastries. I found my real love on my first trip to Vienna however. At the Schlosscafe at the Schoenbrunn Palace, I found pastry perfection. I had always loved good food, but this was something special. When I got home, armed with new cook books and a re-kindled passion, I started developing my own European Bakery recipe list. Viennese tortes, German rye breads, Dutch aebleskivers and French croissants all made the list. Old school techniques and flavors became common in our home. We share these with friends and neighbors every chance we get and finally decided it was time to start sharing with our Utah community as well! Let me know if you share my passion for great food!
